Real So Cal and Liam Howell came back on fire against CZ Elite from Pasadena – with a 6-0 shutout – after last week’s tough battle in a tie game with Arsenal.

Jason #19 had three goals (with two assists by Jeffrey #23), and Brian B #14, Brian C #2 and Tate #16 each had one goal, spreading the scoring around on what was a very active game for the offense.

Liam, as usual, was rock solid in goal with yet another shutout.

“He didn’t see a lot of action, but was a brick wall when he did,” Liam’s dad, Tommy said.

Liam said he was happy with the win but added that “even though we won I feel we have to keep getting better.”

Nice work guys! Way to play strong!

Real So Cal and Liam Howell faced a tough challenge in week four against Arsenal from San Bernardino. Missing both Coach Ikes and their top player, Tate #16, the boys still managed to hang on for a 2-2 tie.

It was a “very physical, tough tough game,” Liam’s dad, Tommy said. “Super proud of our boys.”

Marvin #11 and Jason #19 scored Real So Cal’s two goals, and Liam played strong in goal to hold Arsenal to just 2.

Way to hang in there guys!! Go REAL SO CAL!!!

Real So Cal and Liam Howell grabbed another shutout in week three against the Fram youth soccer club, 3-0.

Liam Howell gets 3 shutouts and his 1st goal in tourney win!!

Liam Howell has been tearing up the soccer field lately with his team Real So Cal.

Liam, who’s 11, plays in the under-12 boys team. The team killed the Thousand Oaks Classic Tournament on Aug. 25-26.

On Aug. 25, with Liam playing goalkeeper (his usual position), the team won its first game 5-0 and its second game 7-0.

On Aug. 26, with Liam playing forward (his first time not playing goalie, according to Tommy), the team won its first game 5-0 and Liam scored his first goal for the club.

In the final on Aug. 26, Liam went back to goalkeeping and helped his team get another shutout, this time 4-0.

That’s three shutouts and a goal for Liam in the tourney (and four shutouts for the team as a whole). Look out MLS – the kid’s on his way to the pros!

Here’s some shots of Real So Cal after the win (taken by Tommy). Congratulations boys!:

Real So Cal U-12 Boys will start regular season play on Sept. 8, with games every Saturday.
